God has left the building

1 Samuel 16:14-16 But the Spirit of the LORD departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the LORD troubled him. And Saul's servants said unto him, Behold now, an evil spirit from God troubleth thee. Let our lord now command thy servants, which are before thee, to seek out a man, who is a cunning player on an harp: and it shall come to pass, when the evil spirit from God is upon thee, that he shall play with his hand, and thou shalt be well.

There was a time when Saul heard from the Lord but as King he made some wrong decisions and God replaced the Spirit of God in him with an evil Spirit. I wonder……did Saul realize when the Spirit of God left him? I don’t think so but he did know that something was not right. The same is true in these times that we live in; people do not realize that God has left the building.

I know people and see them from time to time that have made some wrong decisions and they really do not know that God is no longer with them. They think that He will never leave them and He won’t leave until they get into sin. The problem is that they deny that they have sinned. If you ignore the voice of God and do it long enough you won’t hear it at all and the voice that you hear is the one that will lead you down the wrong path, off of the straight and narrow path onto the one that is broad and leads to destruction. They do not know that God has left the building.

God is not really the one who leaves, it is up to us to provide a place inside of us for Him to dwell. If there is no place for Him to dwell in us then He will find another place to dwell. Yes God’s word says that He will never leave us or forsake us and He won’t; it is our choice if we make a place for Him to dwell or not. Saul made his choice and we make ours daily. We need to make the right one so that we don’t end up like he did. Choosing to fill our selves with the things of this world instead of God will, in the end, fill us with a void that all the money and things of this world could never fill.

Christians who support bands, movie stars and sports figures [and let’s not leave out the democrats] that are liberals, meaning that they support those things that are an abomination before God, might wake up someday and realize that God has left the building. Can they ever get back to where they started from with God? I do not know. That would depend on them and God because He has the last say in the matter.

Then we have people in our churches that, like Saul, have that evil spirit and need to have music played on that harp to relieve them and give them peace and rest so that they can “be well.” But like in Saul’s case that only lasts as long as the music and singing lasts. Some of those who are singing and playing are relieving themselves too. Someday they may realize that things are just not right. Just because God’s Spirit falls on people doesn’t mean that His Spirit is in them, there is a difference. You will know those who have the Spirit of God living in them and those who don’t. Those who have the Spirit of God “IN” them can walk the walk not just talk the talk.

Matthew 15:11-14 Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; but that which cometh out of the mouth, this defileth a man. Then came his disciples, and said unto him, Knowest thou that the Pharisees were offended, after they heard this saying? But he answered and said, Every plant, which my heavenly Father hath not planted, shall be rooted up. Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

People will always be offended by the words of Jesus but we must teach and preach those words so that people will be saved and not be deceived. We must be planted by God because if we are not planted by Him we will be ripped up. We can’t be the blind leading the blind because we will all fall in the ditch. We must seek out the truth in God’s word and speak it to all, especially to those who are preaching false doctrines and prophesying lies to God’s people. Everything is not going to be alright like some of these “prophets” are saying because wrong can never be right. People are going to have to live right, repent from their sin, and follow God; there is no other way. I am very grieved in my spirit for some of “Gods’ people” and my tears have been plentiful here of late. Some are family members and some are church family but I will bring their names to the throne of grace and pray that there will be grace there for them until the time that their eyes are opened once again to the truth.

I Cry

I weep, I cry,

You don’t even know why.

The words that you speak make me grieve,

Because I know that you do not believe.

I weep, I cry,

You don’t even know why.

You take part in what the world has to give,

While you do not consider what makes you live.

I weep, I cry,

You don’t even know why,

You have forsaken the straight and narrow way,

The broad road you have taken, on it you want to stay.

I weep, I cry,

You don’t even know why.

You are happy to be in the place you are in now,

But I will do what I can to help you somehow.
